Beauty Box 5 Review

Hello my Beauties!!
So this is my beauty box 5 review....I just wanted to start off by saying I love these products but the subscription box itself isn't that great. I have had some mishaps with the company themselves but the products inside are worth signing up for!! With that being said, lets start the review and I will post the link to Beauty Box 5 at the end!
1.Juicy Beauty Stem Cellular Moisturizer: This moisturizer is great, however I would recommend this to older clients because it increases your cell turnover rate. Normally on average an adults cell turnover rate is every 28 days. A cell turnover is when your skin cells on the face get "renewed" which is a good thing. Other than that, this is a very nourishing moisturizer.
2.Lucky Perfume: This smells very nice, definitely a summer smell!
3. Jaqua Pink Champagne Hand Cream: I love how moisturizing this hand lotion is and how light the smell is. Sometimes I don't like a lot of fragrance in my hand lotions because they can be potent. But this one is great and keeps my hands hydrated all day.
4.Nanacoco Nail Polish (Wonderland Basket): I cannot stress how much I love nail polish. And especially because this one has glitter in it. Its a great polish if you're going out for New Years Eve!
5. Absolute Nail Polish Remover (Lavender): This seems too good to be true!! I hate the smell of nail polish remover but this literally smells like lavender and nothing else. Its also a more oil based than water/acid based. It smells beautiful and doesn't dry my fingers out when I use it!! Its also in a portable little case that doesn't leak at all!! Definitely a great buy!

I hope you all liked this review and leave me any questions, comments, or concerns on my blog, instagram, or facebook!!

December Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Hello Beauties!!
As promised I am going to give a quick review on my December Ipsy Glam Bag! First of all I am a HUGE fan of Ipsy and I absolutely love the products that I got in this months bag. I will post the link to Ipsy's website below so you can sign up!! Since Ipsy is such a big hit there is a waiting list but you can do small things like sharing their page on your facebook and it will take you right off the waiting list. So lets begin the Review!!

1. BWC Cleanser: Great on the skin, moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and tightened! I have sensitive skin and this was a great product for my skin.
2.Cailyn Mineral Eye Polish (Orchid): Such a pretty color and very light on the eyes. Brings out any eye color and I love the shimmer to it!! Its a different type of application rather than your normal potted eye shadow.
3. NYX Butter Lip Balm (Marshmallow): Such a nice color!! As soon as I used it I fell in love. Its tinted (for those days you dont want to apply lipstick but want some tint to your lips) and its very moisturizing. I love the smell because its super fruity!
4.Style Sexy Hair 450 Blow Out: This is a great heat protector for color treated hair. As we all know my hair is bright red and I have some troubles finding color safe products but I love this heat protector. Its 7 parts shine and 1 part hold which is great when I am looking for a flexible hold.
5. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes: Ugh this mascara works wonders. I cannot stress how great this mascara works. This is a great mascara for a daily look and I love how smooth the application is because its not grainy and it doesn't clump!

I hope you all loved this review. The link for Ipsy is posted below!! Let me know what you all think of these great products and this review itself!!

Sunday Savings! 11-9

Happy Sunday!! Today's savings is from Rimmel London and it is the Stay Matte foundation. This foundation is great because it is a liquid mousse, which means it has great coverage and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Most foundations make my skin dry but I have finally found one that leaves me smooth and locks the moisture into my skin. I use this as my "On the go" foundation and I love it! I have never purchased any products from Rimmel until I bought this and I can say I am not disappointed and I will definitely be getting more when I run out. You can purchase this from any drug store for only $4.39 and they also have a Stay Matte powder that can work with the foundation and seal your makeup in.

xo

Dip Brow Before and After.

Here is my before and after using Dipbrow by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Naturally I have uneven sparse brows. I use Dipbrow everyday to give my brows a fuller more even look. I recommend Dipbrow to all of my followers because its so easy to use and you can basically reshape your brows however you want. You can find Dipbrow at any Ulta for $18.00!!!!

Makeup Must Have!

Happy Saturday! Today I just want to share my favorite makeup must have with you all! This is Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, It is a cream like brow filler that gives you a great full look and lasts ALL day! I love this product because I use it with the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow brush and it makes the application neat with a clean look. The brush is double sided with a spoolie to brush your brows before and after you apply dip brow. Another great thing about Dipbrow is that they have a color for everyone and anyone. You all know I have bright red hair, so I use the auburn shade and it matches perfectly! You can get your Dipbrow at any Ulta for only $18.00!! I also bought the brush at ulta for $18.00 as well! I hope you all love it and I will put up a pictorial tomorrow morning of how I fill in my brows using dip brow!

How to stay hydrated this winter!

Our skin is constantly changing and with the winter coming up rather quick I thought I would blog about how to keep your skin hydrated. After all....beauty starts with health and ends with health.

Typically during the winter our skin tends to dry out more than usual. This is caused by the weather change as well as the dry windy days. The less moisture in the air, the more your face will dry out. Some symptoms of dry skin are:
  • Chapped lips
  • Itchy
  • Absorbs products rather quickly
  • Dry patches on face
  • Flakiness
  • Roughness
To prevent dry skin from happening this winter here are some tips to stay hydrated:
  • Use an oil based moisturizer. Oil on dry skin hydrates the skin a lot better and penetrates a lot better than an oil based moisturizer.
  • Moisturize after a hot shower while your pores are wide open and ready to absorb the product.
  • Put on more moisturizer at night before you go to bed. Giving your skin time to soak up all of the extra moisturizer will make you feel fresh and ready for the morning. Your face will feel so much better just by adding a tiny bit more to your face before bed.
  • USE SUNSCREEN! The summer and winter are the best times to get a tan. The sun reflects off of the snow and can give you color in just a few hours. So before you go out mix some sunscreen into your moisturizer. Some moisturizers even have an SPF already in them!
  • Use a mineral spray during the day when you're starting to feel dried out. I recommend Evian Mineral Facial Spray. I use it all the time and I love the way it makes me face feel.
  • Use a hydrating chap stick or lip balm. A lot of chap stick isn't as hydrating as you would like it to be. The companies sell you on the flavor of the chap stick instead of its actual occlusive hydration. For example EOS chap stick has great flavors but I realize how much it dries out my lips. I like the Chapstick brand because it is cheap but works wonders. I have a chap stick in my car, my purse, on my night stand, in my makeup bag, and on my vanity.
  • When you apply makeup during the winter you may want to use an oil based foundation vs. A water based foundation. As I said above, oil tends to penetrate and leave the skin more moisturized than water based products.
  • EXFOLIATE!! Exfoliating works wonders and removes most of the dead skin on your face and or body. Too much exfoliation can be a bad thing though. It can be way to abrasive to your face and cause rashes, break outs, cysts, and can damage the skin. Exfoliating in a nice steamy hot shower once a week to twice a week (for oily skin) is perfect and will remove dead skin cells and prep the skin for the new developing skin cells. Moisturizing after exfoliation is very effective.
  • Drink plenty of water. Although we love our warm coffee, cider, hot cocoa, and tea during the winter, the caffeine definitely dries out your skin. For every cup of coffee you consume you should drink two bottles of water right after.
  • For the rest of your body, moisturizing twice a day after a hot shower will help a lot. Also covering up while outside will keep the body warm and less likely to get dry and chapped.
I hope you all liked these tips and use them this winter! Don't let the cold get the best of you!!

Sunday Savings! 11-2-14

Todays beauty product is Revlons Iced Amethyst 625. This lipstick is perfect for the fall and applys as a pearl with some shimmer to it. Most lipsticks dry my lips out but this one is very moisturizing and easy to wear. You can find this lipstick at any drugstore and the price was $4.99. Go out and buy this lipstick! I promise you will LOVE it!

Happy November!

I know I have been slacking lately with videos and blogging, but I have just got my permit for aesthetics today along with my certificate for microdermabrasion. I started it on my instagram already. Every Sunday I share some of my favorite drug store beauty products that are very affordable and are products I really love. I include how much the product is, where you can get it, and a mini review. I hope you all enjoy the instagram and I will see you all in my upcoming tutorial VERY soon! I promise!!

Extra Tips:
Use a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it to protect your skin from the sun.
For dry skin use lotions and creams (moisturizers).
For oily skin use gels and liquids (moisturizers).
For combination skin use lotions or creams on the dry areas and gels and liquids on the oily areas.
For sensitive skin use liquids, lotions, and serums.

My Daily Look! LESS IS MORE.

Hey everyone! I hope you're all wrapping up your summer and getting ready for fall. I just wanted to share my Daily look with you all and I hope you love it as much as I do! I depend on this look and I wear it all the time because its so simple. Ill attach links to the products I used at the end of the pictorial. ALSO the link to my facebook is tagged at the bottom, like/ share my facebook for updates, contests, and giveaways! If I see you shared the facebook link you will automatically be entered in a giveaway that ends September 30th!

  • So the first thing I do is use moisturizer and make sure that its all rubbed into my face and that my face is nice and smooth!
  • The next thing I do is apply MAC tinted moisturizer all over my face with my beauty blender. I apply it in 3 sections just because I find it easier and more accurate, I apply to the left side of my face, right side, and my forehead.
  • After that I use my Pixi primer on my eye lids and under my brows to make sure my eye shadow will hold and be a bolder color.
  • I then apply a nude color from my Sephora Makeup Academy palette to my lids and under my brows, and apply a medium brown to my outer lid and blend that with the nude color.
  • Next I apply a thin layer of Urban Decays liquid liner to the top of my lid just above my lashes. And then use Sephoras water proof pen on my upper and lower water line.
  • Then I use one coat of Urban Decays Perversion mascara on my upper and lower lashes giving them a false lashes effect.
  • I fill my brows in with Anastasia brow filler with a thin winged liner brush. I like using a winged liner brush better because I feel like its more accurate than the brush that comes with the kit.
  • For my lips I use a NYX butter gloss, I really like using lighter pinks on my lips because I love how it looks with my skin. NYX has a bunch of great lip glosses and the butter gloss's are my favorite because they are so creamy and make my lips so soft.
  • Lastly I use the Sephora highlight and contour palette and after I spray my face with Evian mineral water to lock my look in place!

I hope you love this look! Leave me any questions and comments below or email/ facebook me with more ideas! XO

Beauty Tip!

Is your face clogging up, oily, or dry? Need a quick exfoliator? Cut a lemon in half and dip the inside half of the lemon in granulated sugar. Dampen your face and begin to rub the lemon sugar exfoliator all over. Rinse well with hot water and repeat as needed. Another fabulous face exfoliator you can purchase at a local drugstore is St. Ives Apricot Scrub or St. Ives Green Tea Scrub. Another one of my favorite face exfoliators is Dr. Brandts Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant this exfoliant has worked wonders for me and really cleared up my skin and removed a lot of dead cells.

The Power of the Brow.

Eyebrows make a VERY big statement, that's why we spend so much time tweezing, waxing, tinting, coloring, and shaping them! This is just a little before and after picture of a colored brow vs. a non colored brow. This before and after picture is just proof that eyebrows make  a difference!

Review: January Ipsy Bag & Healthy Sexy Hair.

Review: So I received my first Ipsy bag this month and inside it had Willa Naturals makeup remover wipes, Elizabeth Mott smooth shadow in the color Penny, Mica Beauty Cosmetics tinted lip balm #5, Nourish Organic lightweight moisturizing face lotion argan and rosewater, and Healthy Sexy Hair soy tri- wheat leave in conditioner. The first product I tried out was the face lotion by Nourish Organic which is a 100% organic beauty company. The first thing I noticed about the lotion was the smell, the smell was amazing the mixture of the rosewater and argan smelled like a orange citrus smell. The lotion made my face really soft but I also realized my face soaked the lotion right up in the matter of minutes. I applied a little more and then my face stayed smooth. The second product I sampled was the Healthy Sexy Hair leave in conditioner. I did not like this product at all. After my shower I t-shirt dried my hair until it was damp then sprayed the leave in conditioner all over my hair. I then brushed it out and had knots galore! I only use on leave in conditioner religiously and that is the Biolage daily leave in tonic. This Healthy Sexy Hair did absolutely nothing for me and I was actually disappointed. I know some people go for name brand products but I look for a product that does something for me and benefits me. I then used the Willa Naturals makeup remover wipes for my face after my shower and washing my face to make sure all of my makeup was off before I went to bed. I really liked these wipes because they were soft and gentle on my skin, they smelled wonderful, and left my skin hydrated and smooth. I still have not tried the Mica Beauty Cosmetics tinted lip balm or the Elizabeth smooth shadow yet but I plan on using it in my next tutorial. I apologize for the tutorial not being up this week, I had some problems with the camcorder and I promise it will be up next week. I am planning on filming a Valentines dramatic date night look. I hope you all enjoy my review and go out and try some of these products for yourself! If their are any products you would like me to sample and review  please feel free to email me at: sydneylim7396@gmail.com
